The BA RE Sesotho Dictionary is a weekly series where we showcase the innovation and growth of the Sesotho language.

Each week we share on facebook and on our website a new Sesotho word that is either invented or comes from existing slang. We invite you to send us your own creative word ideas at barelitfest@gmail.com and use the words we share in your writing!

When we have a huge collection of words we plan to host a Sesotho writing contest where writers must creatively incorporate our words and we plan on publishing an e-book version of the BA RE Dictionary.

Please see our current collection of words below. For each word we have a definition and an example sentence in both Sesotho and English.
